Revival Series: Prayer—“Search Me.”
These verses were the prayer of David to God. This would be a good prayer for all Christians to pray. If we would pray this prayer, and mean it with all our hearts, THERE WOULD BE REVIVAL!
Notice three steps in purging our lives, hearts, and actions:
Search Me
Search my love. Do I really love God?—Matthew 22:37, 39. Do I love others? Do I show my love? If we love the Lord, we will keep His commandments—John 14:15.
“Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’” (Matthew 22:37, NLT)
“A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:39, NLT)
““If you love me, obey my commandments.” (John 14:15, NLT)
Search my longings. Note the longings of David—Psalm 42:1, 2. Are you hungry for God? Do you seek after Him? If we seek Him, He will not disappoint us—Matthew 5:6.
“As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?” (Psalm 42:1–2, NLT)
“God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6, NLT)
Search my living—Luke 6:46. If we call Him Lord, then let us obey Him fully! Jesus said if we are not fully for Him, then we are against Him—Matthew 12:30.
““So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?” (Luke 6:46, NLT)
““Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.” (Matthew 12:30, NLT)
Our Mission
To invite people to Jesus and membership in His family, develop them to Christlike maturity, prepare and coach them for their ministry in the church and life purpose in the world, in order to magnify God's name.
