Revival Series: Judgment Upon Stubbornness

A.      Deception—Genesis 3:1. Satan comes in a form of a serpent to deceive Eve in the garden.

a.       Genesis 3:1 (NKJV) — 1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

B.      Doubt—Genesis 3:4. Satan puts doubt in the mind of Eve saying, “Ye shall not die.” Satan always brings doubt and unbelief.

a.       Genesis 3:4 (NKJV) — 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

C.      Decision—Genesis 3:6. Eve saw the tree and wanted it. The Bible warns against lust—James 1:14–15. Eve knew better, but disobeyed!

a.       Genesis 3:6 (NKJV) — 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

b.       James 1:14–15 (NKJV) — 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Pentz, C. M.
